We are a volunteer 501(c)(3) parent organization that champions music education in every Colchester School District K-12 school. We fuel creativity, build confidence, and foster community through fundraisers and donations directly to school music programs. Our mission is to ensure that every student in Colchester has the opportunity to experience the transformative power of music.
Kids who participate in music programs score higher in the "Competence" component of Positive Youth Development. This boost in confidence extends beyond music, positively impacting students' overall self-perception and their approach to solving challenges.
Kids who participate in music programs feel more connected to their school. Stronger connection to school is associated with better academic performance, increased engagement in learning, and a more positive overall school experience.
Music education helps students develop more positive expectations for their future. This optimistic outlook can motivate students to set higher goals and work harder to achieve them, leading to better long-term outcomes in their careers, relationships & personal goals.
